Everything you need to know about your typing test
The Amharic typing test uses the most common Amharic words, helping you measure how fast you type the language you use every day. By focusing on phonetic (GeezIME) input combinations, it provides a solid baseline for comparing your Amharic typing speed with others.
You type for one minute. The result shows your words per minute (WPM), your accuracy, and a detailed breakdown of correct and wrong keystrokes. A word counts as five keystrokes, so speeds can be perfectly compared across languages.
The average typist manages around 40 WPM. 60 to 80 WPM is a solid everyday speed, and anything above 100 puts you among the top typists. Accuracy matters as much as the number: a fast run with many mistakes is slower in practice.
Words per minute counts every five keystrokes as one word. Only correctly typed words count; mistakes are shown separately as wrong keystrokes and lower your overall accuracy.
